Building Officials of Western Massachusetts (BOWM) is an organization of active and retired building inspectors and associates serving Western Massachusetts cities and towns. Meetings are generally held on the third Wednesday of every month at West Springfield Town Hall, 26 Central Street, West Springfield, MA 01089
The organization is comprised of representatives from three membership categories: Active, Honorary, and Sponsored
*Active members include building commissioners, inspectors of buildings, local building inspectors, and conditional appointees who currently serve, or are actively seeking to serve, a Massachusetts municipality.
**Honorary members include employees of the Office of Public Safety and Inspections (OPSI) and retired building commissioners, inspectors of buildings, and local building inspectors.
***Sponsored members include self-employed individuals, individuals employed by a State or County agency, firm, corporation or association engaged in building technology, construction, and related manufacturing, furnishing of building materials, or any related fields as may be recognized by a standing vote of BOWM membership. Sponsored members must be sponsored by either an Active or Honorary member.
